He looks tough!

I like where you're going with the lighting on this, and the rich browns. I would say to go ahead and exaggerate the lighting even more, if you want to experiment. Overall it's a good strong pose, though if you wanted to be more dynamic you could shift him to one direction or the other (have him take one leg out to a particular direction to exaggerate a lean), but I think the hand position still speaks to his strength nonetheless, so it still works. Only other thing I would say is to put him on a background that brings in more of your colours (like a brown) but doesn't distract from him. But I like this. It's a very good job with the painting.
